Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility unit, JAC, Stellantis, and Maserati are in talks to jointly develop a new energy vehicle under the Maserati brand, according to Yunjian Insight. The proposed structure would reportedly mirror Huawei’s existing “Five Brands” model, with Huawei leading product definition and core technology, JAC handling joint development and manufacturing, and Maserati contributing design and brand positioning.
The project is said to include separate versions for China and overseas markets. The China version would fall under Huawei and JAC’s Maextro brand, while the overseas version would carry the Maserati badge. The first model is reportedly still in the design stage and is planned for mass production in the second half of next year.
